Sometimes in life we get information presented to us many times before we listen. Over the last few weeks I have encountered this many times with the simple message of the power of these two words: I AM. So I thought what better way to share this then here on my blog. These two words, so simple and yet so mystical are the basis for everything in your life.
When we wake up in the morning, we are often tired and groggy, and annoyed that we have to rush off to another job and endure all of life’s nuisances. We hear in our heads things like:
“I’d rather be in bed”, “who cares about what I do anyway, it makes no difference”. “Another day for disappointment.” And so on. Maybe our self talk is even worse then that. Some of us belittle ourselves with insults about our looks, health, lifestyle or circumstances. What we’re really saying to ourselves is that we are no good, that we don’t deserve the best, and the reality of those thoughts emulate outwards in our surroundings and resonate to everyone around us. Everything we encounter will then echo those thoughts back to us and the vicious cycle begins.
So what if we started our day off right, with statements that lift us up and encourage us?
The very thought of “positive self talk” may sound pathetic, like a Saturday Night Live sitcom: “I’m good enough, and darn gone it people like me!”. But there is truth to the words that we speak and think in our heads. When we think negatively about ourselves we send out the frequency of negativity. We get back what we give so to say. So why don’t we change the channel. Let’s give ourselves some positive statements that lift us up to a higher place and I guarantee that after a few days you’ll feel like the world is smiling at you for a change. Here are some examples:
I am supported by life and all it has to offer
I am healthy and happy
I am loved and wanted
I am a good, caring person
I am successful in all that I do
I am prosperous and financially stable
You can add whatever you want onto “I am” and repeat it to yourself daily.
For some further information about the importance of I am, here’s a link to Dr. Wayne Dyer. This was one of the many examples that came my way to get the message across. Enjoy!
Namaste
